Nature study is a great way to experience science first-hand. If you’re looking for a homeschool nature study curriculum, I’d like to introduce you to Wonder-Filled Days in Nature.
Wonder-Filled Days is a year-round nature curriculum. At its core, is a watercolor nature calendar with something to look for or a nature observation each day. It also has a tracker and printable stickers to keep track of the activities that you’ve completed.

Besides the calendar, each day includes more detailed activities. These activities usually include something to look for outside and links to learn more.
Corresponding Journal Pages
The nature study also includes matching journal pages for about one-third of the days throughout the month. Older children may wish to use their own nature journals to keep record of what they have observed in nature.

Poetry & Fine Art
You also receive four pieces of poetry paired with four classic paintings each month. These are great to begin a poetry tea-time habit.

A Book List
Each month also includes a book list on the topics being studied. Some parents say that this is their favorite part.
“After you’ve exhausted all your childhood favorites, this nature calendar is worth the book list alone. I will no longer spend three hours putting together a library list only to bring home books that don’t instill in my daughter the values I cherish. We cry and laugh together over the books on Suzanna’s book list and the best part is that my six-year-old loves them at least as much as I do. She keeps asking for Roxaboxen and Meteor, books new to both of us. It’s a bonus that many of these amazing picture books are true stories!” Marisa, Mom of 6-year old
