Hi!
Thanks for joining us. I’m Suzanna, mom to four boys and now an adorable little baby girl who’s growing up too fast and who will never doubt that her family loves her. I am in wonder of what God has done for me through His Son, Jesus Christ; in wonder of the precious husband He has given me, and of the family we are raising together by His grace.
I love books and teaching and all things homeschooling and have been writing this blog in my head for the last couple years. I’ve finally put pen to paper, or fingers to the keyboard, as the case may be, and stepped into the scary (for me) world of blogging.
God is slowly teaching me what is important and through various events has impressed on my mind how real heaven is. I love what Jennie Allen said in her book Anything,
“There is another normal– it is invisible and forever and it doesn’t fall down… What if heaven and God and forever became our normal? Wouldn’t that change everything?”
I hope something I write here can be a blessing to you!
You have a lovely blog and a lovely family. Homeschooling is so rewarding. God Bless.
Thank you for your kind words. I love my family and cherish the time I get to spend with my children every day.
Suzanna, welcome to Thought-Provoking Thursday! 🙂
Hi, Lyli. Thanks for hosting!

Hi Suzanna! I am excited for us to connect. Thank you for your kindness and help in the Inspired Bloggers Network. I look forward to reading more of your blog! 🙂
Hi Jennifer, Thanks so much for stopping by and saying hello. God bless you in your parenting and blogging adventures!
I love doing good the nature calander as part of our homeschool. I’m curious what curriculum you enjoy using?
I would love a curriculum based of of the nature calander. For example.. creating launguage arts and mathematics to go along with each days topic. Does this exist?
How would I go about creating this?
Thanks!
Hi, Nicole,
I’m glad to hear that you enjoy doing the calendars. I’ve used both Heart of Dakota and Good and the Beautiful with my kids.
What ages are you teaching right now? I can imagine doing math based on the activity in the calendars for younger kids. That is largely what we’re doing with my 5-year old right now. I’m actually writing a post right now on learning math through nature which I’ll be posting this week. Math that is taught in the elementary years can be taught in a short time, so if you’re exposing them to numbers and mathematical concepts now, when they actually start book work, they’ll learn quickly.
As for language arts, I’m working on adding copy work to the calendars. I thought I’d wait until next year to add it to the product, since I’m pretty busy right now. You could also have your kids do oral or written narrations on the related books you read. If your kids need more writing, you could add extra research and reports. You could also add daily journal entries.
Thanks for your questions. You’ve given me something to think about.
My kids are 3rd. 1st. And k.
Could I just follow a scope and sequence for the appropriate levels and steer that around the topic?
I’m so excited about this idea!
I’m not a teacher by degree.. but, I would love to have someone guied me in this desire and give it a try. Lol
Thanks for your help!
I can definitely see that working for those ages. I’m not a teacher by degree either, but I’ve homeschooled our five kids from the beginning, and the oldest is heading to college this fall. 🙂
Hi Suzanna, I’m so glad to meet you. I found you from an ad on Instagram (I’m @africazmel) and your resources are so in line with the homeschool environment I’m crafting for my little ones. More than that, your About Me section above is so much like what I would say as I too am amazed at who our God is and what He has in store for us believers. I can’t wait to take a look around the blog!
Hi Melody! I’m glad to meet you, too. Thanks so much for taking time to comment.
Hi Suzanna, Your nature calendar is beautiful and I love your intention to glorify God through your blog. I was wondering if you believe in the trinity.
Absolutely! Is there a reason you ask?
Hello, I love the idea of the nature calendar. My son loves to be outside exploring and learning. We live in Florida. Do you have any adaptations for those in more tropical climates?
Hi Kerri, I think you’d find that you can do most of the activities even in a warm climate. I consider the fact that many are farther ahead in their growing season and try to include adaptions that could be used anywhere.
Hi, we are just starting to download our subscription now because our family were hit hard with ice storms and family illnesses. Is there any chance we can get access to past months? If not is there a possibility of extending future months. We really appreciate your time and beautiful work,
All the best
