As part of Tyndale’s Blogger Review program, I received a free copy of Your Magnificent Chooser in exchange for an honest review.
My daughter loves to be read to. It’s one of her favorite things to do. That’s why I was delighted to come across the new children’s book, Your Magnificent Chooser by John Ortberg.
Your Magnificent Chooser is a beautiful book with delightful illustrations and rhyming text (it reminds me of Dr. Seuss).
Here’s the book description:
I loved this book for a number of reasons:
It teaches an important lesson in a fun way. A lot of it (okay, almost all of it) is over my two-year-old’s comprehension level, but I know it won’t be long before she’s reciting phrases such as
Will you wake with a smile
Or start with a frown?
Your Chooser can choose
If you’re up or you’re down
or
God’s Chooser works better
Than yours or mind could
His Chooser is perfect
And loving and good.
The illustrations are adorable and my daughter loves them. She could not get enough of them. She loves the little balloon-like choosers attached to each child. She studies each one of the pictures carefully and even imitates the children in the book. I almost can’t read her the following page without her saying, “I do that,” and jumping off the couch to try out this fun upside-down position.
And the following illustration just might be the best one in the whole book. Because almost every time I read her this page, she reaches over and gives me a big hug. And how can you beat that?
If you’re looking for a great book to read to your child or give as a gift, I highly recommend Your Magnificent Chooser by John Ortberg.
