What's bringing you joy this week?

1. We stained the garden gate this week. This was quite the job, and I hope my garden lives up to it.

2. A cardinal has built a nest outside our bedroom window, and the eggs have hatched.

3. My daughter has started sewing dolls, and I'm so happy to watch her interest and skills take off in this area.

4. I've also been enjoying thrifting with my daughter. The most surprising thing we found this past week is a wooden dreidel. When we read about Hanukah in Mystery of History a few months ago, we said we were going to keep our eyes open for a dreidel. Finding one in the bottom of a box at a yard sale was so unexpected!

5. We've been learning Hebrew with Aleph with Beth. Beth and Avram (Andrew) are amazing teachers, and their lessons are a highlight of my day. The lessons are completely free and can be found on YouTube.

We learned our first Psalm the other day, and it was such an amazing experience to be able to understand it. Andrew's music is a huge motivation to me to learn it. Being able to understand the Psalms being sung in the original language is so beautiful.

"As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the LORD is round about his people from henceforth even for ever." Psalm 125:2

A few years ago, the nest of an Eastern Phoebe ble

A few years ago, the nest of an Eastern Phoebe blew down, and we had the opportunity to observe it up close. It was so exquisitely beautiful.

I tried to put it somewhere the parents might return to, but I don't think they did.

What an amazing experience to hold this tiny hummi

What an amazing experience to hold this tiny hummingbird in my hands! My husband brought it in after finding it tangled in a cobweb in our shop.

It didn't move for a long time, and the only way I knew it was alive was that I could feel its fast heartbeat.

I tried to feed it sugar water from a spoon. We've successfully done this in the past. It had no interest, and just when I wasn't sure it would survive, it flew off in a flash.

I wasn't very concerned about getting pictures, but my daughter took a few.

"Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered." Matthew 10:29-30
