I wasn’t sure I was going to make a March Nature Day by Day calendar, but a reader left a comment on my February calendar that made me think some of you might be missing the March one if I didn’t make it. I was in a bit of a hurry so I made it on the computer and used clip art, but I think it turned out lovely.
Some of the ideas on this calendar might not work for you at the time listed. That’s okay. Just use them whenever it works out.
More information and internet links
March 5: Here are a lot of other ideas for window sill gardens.
March 7: Planet Line-up
March 19: Take a yard long piece of string. Go outside and make a circle on the ground with it. Record everything you can find within the circle. Use a magnifying lens if available.
March 29: Play Nature Bingo. Print out these Nature Bingo cards and see who can finish a row first. Or look for your own. There are many options available.
March 31: Color eggs using natural dyes and leaf imprints. (Check here for inspiration and here for technique and dye ideas. To make the leaf imprints, I think you dip the leaves into wax and press onto the eggs before dying. I need to do some further research on this. Feel free to leave a better tutorial in the comments if you know of one and I’ll include it.)
